Role Overview

Distacart is seeking a Lead Content Marketing Manager to lead our content strategy and creat compelling, culturally rich narratives that resonate with global audiences. This role will be having direct reports and will be required to actively manage them for optimal business results. This requires a creative storyteller with a deep understanding of content marketing, SEO, and the ability to craft engaging content across various platforms. Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy Development

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy aligned with Distacart’s brand voice, business goals, and target audience

  • Identify key content themes and topics that resonate with culturally diverse global audiences while maintaining Distacart’s core values

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content supports product launches, campaigns, and marketing initiatives

Content Creation and Management

  • Oversee the creation of high-quality, engaging content across various formats, including blog posts, social media content, email newsletters, website copy, and more

  • Manage a content calendar to ensure consistent publishing and alignment with marketing campaigns and business objectives

  • Craft culturally relevant and shareable content that drives engagement and builds brand loyalty

SEO and Content Optimization

  • Conduct keyword research and optimize content for search engines to improve organic visibility and drive traffic

  • Stay up-to-date on SEO best practices and implement strategies to enhance content performance

  • Analyze content performance metrics and use data-driven insights to refine and optimize future content

Analytics and Reporting

  • Track and measure the performance of content campaigns, reporting on metrics like reach, engagement, and conversion rates

  • Use analytics tools to decode audience preferences, predict trends, and identify content opportunities

  • Provide regular reports and insights to stakeholders to demonstrate the impact of content marketing efforts

Team Collaboration and Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of content creators, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality output

  • Collaborate with design, social media, and marketing teams to create cohesive and impactful campaigns

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices in content marketing, sharing insights with the team to drive innovation

Qualifications
Educational Background
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field

Experience
  • 6-10 years of proven experience in content marketing, preferably in the e-commerce or B2C sector

  • Compelling candidates that show a good grasp and depth of skills in other industries and B2B will also be considered

  • Experience creating engaging content and developing content strategies that drive business results

Skills
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a passion for creating engaging content

  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and content optimization techniques

  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms

  • Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush, etc.) and the ability to interpret data to drive decisions

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and adapt to fast-paced environments

Technical Proficiency
  • Knowledge of video editing tools and platform-specific content guidelines is a plus

  • Familiarity with digital advertising strategies and tools is an advantage
